Anaerobic remediation
Anaerobic Bioremediation Solutions
Sustained and quick-release electron donors plus the cultures that finish the dechlorination pathway to ethene, for faster, more complete treatment of chlorinated solvents.
Terra Systems' anaerobic bioremediation solutions are designed to deliver faster, more complete treatment of chlorinated solvents under a wide range of site conditions. The portfolio combines proven technologies that generate reducing conditions, support microbial activity, and drive both biotic and abiotic degradation pathways: the anaerobic process uses native or introduced microorganisms, chiefly Dehalococcoides mccartyi, to break down chlorinated solvents like PCE and TCE to non-toxic end products.
Three product lines cover the pathway: SRS® emulsified vegetable oil substrates for sustained carbon delivery, QRS™ quick-release substrates for rapid reducing conditions, and TSI® bioaugmentation cultures where the dechlorinating organisms are absent or under-represented.
At a glance
Sustained or quick-release carbon
SRS® substrates ferment slowly over years; QRS™ substrates generate reducing conditions immediately.
Bioaugmentation on demand
TSI® cultures restart a stalled dechlorination pathway where Dehalococcoides or Dehalobacter are absent.
In-house formulation
Every substrate batch is blended at the Claymont, Delaware plant, so the formulation is a design variable, not a constraint.
