SRS®-LDL pairs a large, average 5 µm droplet with an anionic emulsifier and added lecithin. Because aquifer solids typically carry a positive surface charge, the anionic, lecithin-enhanced emulsion sticks to the formation more readily than a nonionic one, maximizing retention rather than travel distance.
Terra Systems designs SRS®-LDL for aquifers with high groundwater flow rates (greater than roughly 180 feet per year), fractured rock formations, permeable reactive barriers, and treatment near streams, rivers or estuaries, where minimizing the substrate's migration toward surface water matters as much as treating the plume.
Benefits
- Anionic emulsifier and lecithin maximize retention in high-flow and fractured-rock aquifers
- Designed for use in permeable reactive barriers and near streams, rivers or estuaries
- Same 60% soybean oil, 5.5% quick-release, nutrient and Vitamin B12 package as the rest of the line
- USDA BioPreferred certified; zero carbon footprint on arrival at the job site
