Fast-acting carbon
QRS™ Quick-Release Substrates
Injection-ready glycerol and sodium lactate substrates that rapidly generate reducing conditions for immediate anaerobic treatment of chlorinated solvents.
The QRS™ family delivers readily available carbon to quickly establish reducing conditions and support rapid microbial activity. Four formulations split along two substrate chemistries, glycerol and sodium lactate, each available with or without an added proprietary nutrient and Vitamin B12 package. QRS™ substrates are soluble, food-grade, 100% biobased, and designated Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) by the FDA.
Their low viscosity and high solubility allow rapid transport with groundwater, which enhances distribution and reduces the number of injection points needed.
At a glance
Rapid onset
Quick-release carbon establishes reducing conditions faster than a sustained-release substrate alone.
Nutrient-enhanced option
The Plus formulations add a proprietary nutrient package and Vitamin B12 to improve donor efficiency.
